EQUESTRIAN SCHOOL / MANEGE / ARENA LEVELLERS
We offer a choice of either mounted levellers, TOP-GRADE, for use with small tractors, or trailed models, TRAIL-GRADE, that can be towed by quad bikes, ride-on mowers, garden tractors and 4x4s. There is also a choice of blade type to suit different surface materials: The flat faced blade is excellent for sand and other fluid surfaces such as sand composites. The plane blade is perfect for chopped rubber surfaces, or other large particle materials. Both kinds of leveller are available with either type of blade.
THE "TOP - GRADE" MOUNTED LEVELLER
The TOP - GRADE leveller is designed for three- point linkage mounting behind compacts, eg. Kubota and smaller tractors e.g. Fergy 35, Fordson Dexta, Smallholder etc. It is perfect for levelling sand surfaced arenas, providing a smooth, level and firmed surface so necessary for good schooling. It features a working width of 2.4metres to cover the ground fast and has a built-in, easy to use edge plough for pulling material away from the kick boards.
Also fitted, is a pneumatic guide wheel to hold the leveller away from the boards and to also protect the leveller from becoming caught. The wheel is also height adjustable.
In front of the blade is fitted an adjustable rake which can be used to loosen compact surfaces, making them easier to grade, and giving a better finish. The TOP-GRADE can be supplied with the Plane Blade for use on rubber surfaces if required.
THE "TRAIL - GRADE" 2.4 mtr TRAILED LEVELLER
Shown above fitted with the Plane Blade the TRAIL-GRADE is seen working on a chopped rubber surface. The adjustable spring conditioning tines can clearly be seen doing their job. These spring tines vibrate through the rubber shaking the base sand away , bringing the rubber back to the surface, after which the special shape of the Plane Blade produces a nice well levelled finish.
Here the TRAIL-GRADE is seen working with the edge plough fitted, pulling away the build up of mixed sand and rubber from the kickboards.
A few passes with the tines and blade afterwards will soon have the sand back underneath, where it should be.
The picture below shows the amount of material being ploughed back from the edge. Notice that we fit skids to the TRAIL-GRADE to protect the kick boards. These have proved to be just as effective as wheels on the trailed leveller, which is more easily displaced sideways, unlike tractor mounted models which can exert a greater force sideways onto the boards. The edge plough can be folded up when not in use or removed completely by pulling out two "R" clips. The action of the Plane Blade produces a perfect surface which is level and lightly firmed. The TRAIL-GRADE can be supplied with the Flat Faced Blade, to produce a superb finish on sand surfaces. There are adjustments for the front spring tines, and also the working effect, achieved by a screw adjuster on the axle. The blade is raised effortlessly by the over - centre handle attached to the axle.
