                                                GRASS MACHINERY...

                            Grass Rake...Grass Harrow

                                  TRIPPING GRASS RAKE

The original was built in 1986 as a special for a local customer but the Updated Tripping Grass Rake can still be supplied to order. Based on a design similar to the old style of horse rake, this modern version, with a clever land-wheel driven tripping action, is ideal for working in smaller areas, being the perfect tool for swathing hay, raking- off cut material from conservation areas and clearing up behind cutter bar mowers.

bulletThe tines are spaced at 75mm (3 ins) so they will collect all but short chopped grass. They can be adjusted easily for ground clearance (you don't want it working as a harrow...or dirt in your hay sample)
bullet A standard working width of 5 feet (1.5m) ensures good work rates, other widths available upon request.
bullet The tines are independently hinged to allow contour following, and are easily replaced should they become damaged.
bullet The rake is hitched using a 50mm ball coupling as standard, but a clevis type hitch can be provided.
bulletThere is also a transport latch provided to keep the tines clear of the ground when travelling between jobs.

bullet Tripping is achieved by pulling on the trip cord, this engages the drive to the tine frame and releases the lock latch, the tines then rotate dropping their load. Releasing the cord lets the tines return to their working position.

Prices are available on request: See below.

                                          SPRINGA

                             Spring Tined Grass Rake

The "Springa" mounted spring tined grass rake is the supreme tool for the rejuvenation and maintenance of both large lawns and paddocks.

Fitted with 60 oscillating spring tines (5ft model) that are spaced at 25mm centres, the whole of the surface is worked. (Not all manufacturers fit as many tines at such narrow spacing)

The tines vibrate rapidly from side to side during work ensuring an overlap, thereby covering all of the ground (Our tine spacing ensures no strips of un-worked grass are left which require more than one pass)

When used at moderate forward speeds the tines will pull out dead grass that has formed a "thatch" layer that can stop nutrients and moisture getting to the sward. Also, the raking action of the tines encourages "tillering" of the plant, promoting strong new growth.

Another advantage is the break-up and distribution of manure deposits that may have been left by grazing animals, thereby helping to avoid dead patches of sward and polluted grazing.

The angle of the tines is easily adjusted with one simple lever and pin, allowing them to working gently or aggressively depending on the requirements of the area being worked.

This is a superb machine for pasture/paddock maintenance and is now so much more effective than the old fashioned chain harrow.
